BBC Radio Foyle – Diageo concerned about Jackson signing
It’s just over a year since Ireland and Ulster rugby player Paddy Jackson was cleared of rape and subsequently released by the URFU and Ulster Rugby.
After a year in France with Perpignan, Jackson is now set to return to the UK with a move to Premiership Rugby club London Irish.
Diageo, the parent company of Guinness, said that it has "serious concerns" over the signing of Jackson by a club with whom it has a major sponsorship deal and plans to meet with club representatives to discuss their reservations.
Calacus Managing Director David Alexander gives his views to BBC Radio Foyle on the power of sponsors and the importance of reputation.
